Sherri Odlevak

Sherri Odlevak of Greenville, South Carolina, took to the gym and track for UW-Superior from 1978-1981. She was named All Conference on the volleyball teams of 1978, 1979, and 1980. In addition to that she was also named All Conference on the basketball teams of 1979 and 1980, and was also captain of the 1980 and 1981 team. She earned honors as the AIAW National Division III Champion in the Heptathlon for finishing First and was named All American in track and field in 1981. The University of Wisconsin -Superior honored Sherri three years running as Outstanding Woman Athlete of the Year. In 1996 Sherri Odlevak was inducted into the UW-Superior Hall of Fame.

After earning her bachelor's degree in physical education, she played with Athletes in Action in Ecuador, Peru, and Brazil. She represented the U.S. Team in the International Pre-Olympic Basketball Tournament in Havana, Cuba, and toured with Tanya Crevier's "World's Greatest Ball-Handling Show."

Furthermore, Sherri has achieved many milestones in her post-collegiate athletic life. She was named Sports Woman of the Year in Greenville, SC. At her tenure at Furman University, she took the team to four conference titles. Also, while at Furman she worked as Associate Head Basketball Coach and first Assistant for a period of eight years. During this period, she recruited four top players who were all named Player of the Year.

Sherri is a Christian and works with Bill Glass and Champions for Life, Chuck Colson's Prison Fellowship, Scottie Barnes and Forgiven Ministries, as well as various other prison ministries sharing her testimony with inmates all over the world. Locally she speaks at churches, banquets, and schools. She also performs numerous ball handling shows and demonstrates her phenomenal basketball techniques. While entertaining the audience, she shares her testimony about attitude and, most importantly, her relationship with Jesus Christ.
